A Long Time Ago

I found this picture today. It was totally by accident, but I thought it would be fun to post it for my family to see. Some things to note: it was Christmas time. See the scrawny tree behind us all. This is a picture of me and my cousins. It was taken in the front room of my grandma and grandpa's house. I think I was about 13 or 14 years old. (1957 or 1958) Two of us are missing from this picture and that would be Sue and Celinda. They were not born yet. For about 14 years Diane and I were the only girls in this bunch of rowdy's. Those in the picture are: Top row: Danny, Bill Dean, Scooter, Bud (my brother). Middle row: Me, my grandpa holding Kenny, my grandma, Diane.
Bottom row: Jimmy, John, Michael, Monte (my brother) and Doug. 10 boys and 2 girls, final total was 10 boys and 4 girls. Good times when we were kids, it's sad to note that these days there are three missing, my brother Monte, Bill Dean and Doug. Monte died in a motorcycle accident, Bill Dean died of a brain tumor and Doug died of cancer. We are scattered to the four corners of this country, and some I have not seen for years. It was a fun picture to share.

Part Deux

Come on now, AGAIN? Really. Maybe
a bib is in order for this one. Hot sauce and now
chowmein. Wearing your dinner is not vogue.
Didn't you get the fashion memo?
We are doing BBQ next month, can't wait to see
what happens. Stay tuned for the February update.

Chinese was the place of choice this month. Ming's serves the best, I think all would agree. Let's see, we have done Mexican, Italian, good ole' American hamburgers and now Chinese. It was good, and even though it was cold outside, it was warm inside with friendship and fun. We welcomed Andra, Alyssa and Sharon to the mix. We missed Marsha and look forward to her return. She just happens to be spending the winter in warm Arizona. Lucky person.
