THE BOOK IS OUT!!!

The book "Unfinished" by MKYoung is now available at Barnes & Nobles.com; and Amazon.com. Click on the word unfinished for the link to his page for a direct link to the purchasing website. The book is poetry that he has written over the years. It is VERY thought provoking and sometimes over MY head. It is his take on social issues, politics and life experiences in general. If you choose to buy it, get it from B & N. If there is enough interest in the book, they will put it on their shelves. If you know Mark at all, you know how passionate he is about what he believes. It is an exciting event for all of us, but more so for him to see his name in print and to see his thoughts published. A word of caution; it is NOT sappy poetry, and you have the opportunity to read and form your own thoughts from his. That is the beauty of the writings. You take away what you want from them. The one I think has the most meaning for me is the poem "A Bad Day". When I first read it, I didn't get it. After talking with him about it...I understood. It was his feelings the day his Dad told he and his brother he had terminal cancer. Congratulations Mark, it will be a winner, it is a dream fulfilled.

Saga of the broken toe

Yep, for sure the toe is broken. I decided to see my doctor this morning. It was hurting big time today, and still swollen and many shades of purple, blue and red. I just wanted to make sure that nothing else was going on, so went, had x-rays, and sure enough the little piggy is broken clean through. She said it was aligned great, and the fact that I had Birkenstock sandals on was a good thing. The foot bed is hard enough to keep the toe straight and the fact that it's cupped up around the toe kept it where it should be. So Sherry, good call.

I will be going to the hospital for my shift, and have permission to wear the sandal on just one foot. Not my style but it works. The doctor said I should not put my foot into a closed shoe for at least two weeks and that it would be a month or more before I am good as new. She said I could expect it to swell more than it has and it will get better in time. This is the first time in my life that I have ever broken ANYTHING. This hurt like heck, and I cannot imagine breaking anything bigger. That's it, and here is a link to Michelle's picture of the poor little piggy.
