"mother"Ashlock, Betty Marie, of Wichita, KS and Arlington, TX, peacefully and gently passed on Sunday, April 27, 2008. Funeral: Services will be at 10:30 am on Friday at Moore-Bowen Road Chapel. The family will receive friends from 8:30 to 10:30 am prior to the service. Burial will be at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2:30 pm in Lane B. Betty was born to Robert E. Brewer and Loretta Pearl Hooker Brewer Spore on March 10, 1925 in Sycamore, KS. She met and married A.L. (Roy) Ashlock before WWII. From that time forward she was a devoted wife and mother to her three children, Nancy, Bud and Monte, She became the first heart that ever loved them, the first voice they ever heard, the first smile they ever saw. Her eyes were always filled with love and pride. Hers were the first hands to guide their first wobbly steps or dance with them. Her arms were the first to hold them safe and snug yet always leaving room to grow. She was their first confidant to listen to the things they had to say. She was their first friend to share their hopes and dreams and the first in their hearts today, forever and ever. May God bless her and know she was the best wife and mother ever. Job well done. The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to everyone that helped her on Saturday, April 26th and Sunday, April 27th during her time of need. Special thanks to the Arlington Fire Emergency Response Team, PMT's and MCA hospital staff. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Loretta; husband, A.L. "Roy" Ashlock; son, Monte Ashlock; brothers, Robert E. and Norman Brewer; and sisters, Dorothy and Virginia. Survivors: son, H.L. "Bud" Ashlock; daughter, Nancy Young; grandsons, Bud Ashlock, Tim and Mark Young; granddaughters, Muffy Travis, Mandy Ashlock and Betty Lou Ashlock; great-grandchildren, Valleri, Emily, Shelbie, Landon, Aidyn, Axton, Alyjah and Pollux; many nieces, nephews, and all of her dearest friends.
