The Gramcracker "4"

Yep, here they are once again. I was looking for a new

picture to set as wallpaper for my PC, and found this one.

I don't think I have shared this one before, and if I have

too bad. I really enjoy this picture. It makes me smile.

I have had tons of blessings in my life, but these are

four of the best. I look at it and wonder what in the world

Vallie is thinking about...."Grandma, I am too old for this", or

"can you just get this over with" and then look at my little

prince, surrounded by girls. BUT WAIT.........maybe that's

a good thing. Isn't it every boys dream to be surrounded by

pretty girls, even if one of them is your sister. These are

great kids; loving, sweet, respectful, talented and most of all

MINE!!!! Life just doesn't get any better than this. I hope

this picture brings a smile to you today, Lord knows we

need them more than ever these days.

Being Interviewed by a FROSH........

I don't have pictures to share for this post.

I was interviewed this morning by my oldest granddaughter. Several days ago, she asked me if I could help her with a homework project. Of course I said YES! She is doing a project for English (I think it's English) Someone correct me if I am wrong. The project consists of learning about her heritage and where her ancestors came from. Fortunately, last summer I spent some of my free time building a family tree for both sides of my husband and myself. Luckily I had an Aunt who shared a wealth of information, and I was able to not only trace them back, but as far back as the religious crusades. Well anyway, back to the interview. I did not really know what to expect, but it turned out to be very interesting. She asked the usual questions regarding who, what, when and where. I have to say, some of the questions were extremely hard to answer. Questions about traditions carried forward, questions about what my hopes and dreams were for her as it related to our heritage. THIS IS A FRESHMAN assignment....whew! Quite frankly I didn't know what to say most of the time. I had to put some time into my thoughts before I answered her. She shared with me that she had to write a short story about one of the countries of her origin (fiction), and make a family tree that starts with the person who crossed the ocean to come to America up to and including herself. This is some project. I was excited and happy to share with her these facts. I do believe that it is important for our children and grandchildren to know where they came from, who is in their family tree, what they did for a living, anything and everything so they understand their heritage. So if you haven't started checking out your families, I encourage you to do it.....it's fun, educational and self satisfying. Especially if you don't find any horse thieves among you!

I certainly hope she got the answers she was looking for and that her grade reflects her dedication to the subject.
